On the street

On the street

He was one of those who simply watch life breaking out, a hunter of the intangible like the thousands of people who take photos at the spur-of- the-moment.

…One day he started tearing up all the photographs that his passion had accumulated for months now, ripping up all the snapshots which he kept hanging on the wall, cutting up the negatives with a pair of scissors, destroying the transparencies. He placed the remnants of this meticulous destruction on unfolded newspapers, which were lying on the floor.

‘Maybe the truly realistic photograph, he thought, is a pile of slashed photo shoots of private life on a wrinkly framework, embellished with slaughters and regal coronations.’
